Native American RelationsThe New Jersey Colony had a hostile relationship with Native Americans. When the Dutch first came, they made a strained a relationship with them. The Lenni Lenape was the tribe name for these certain Natives. The Lenni Lenape had an abundant supply of fur, so they gave the colonists beaver pelts, and in return received European made goods. Unfortunately, like a teardrop quickly being wiped away, the kindness that embedded the trading relationship was too, wiped away. The Dutch forced the innocent Lenni Lenape on barren and desolate reservations.
